“Confusion”, was selected for the 2 ^nd place award, and were selected by James Rondeau, President at The Art Institute of Chicago. this painting represent the females constant need to re-examine and redefine ourselves within the context of society as we grow older.

“My painting is called “Confusion”, because this constant need to re-examine and redefine ourselves as females within the context of society as we grow older is a very daunting and scary process. I started by painting a picture of myself as a girl, as a young woman, as a woman, and finally as an older and more mature version of myself that was unknown to me then. As I started painting the many faces of myself, I realized that I have yet to understand what the next face will look like as I move gracefully into my late 60’s.”
