Creating the story of a person’s life has been my goal, and this painting is an example of what I can create. In this painting, I’ve depicted the transformation of a simple color palette into a full story that represents the life of Yasmeen. Alongside this narrative, I’ll be sharing three pictures showcasing the different stages the painting underwent, from the initial under painting colors to the final visual story. I used my daughter as an example to tell her story as an American Iraqi, where Iraqi culture and architecture are seen as part of her background. The skyscraper represents her life in the US.
