August carries the warmth of the sun and the quiet promise of transformation.
This painting began with three simple symbols: a triangle, a circle, and a line.
The triangle represents the fire element. The circle became the sun, Leo’s ruling star. The vertical lines slowly revealed the Gladiolus, August’s birth flower. A flowing turquoise line emerged naturally, echoing the graceful curve of the Leo symbol and connecting the flower, the sun, and the fire into one visual story.
I don’t begin with a finished image in mind. Instead, I begin with symbols, color, and movement. By listening and responding to what appears on the canvas, the painting gradually reveals its own direction. Each mark becomes part of an ongoing conversation that leads me naturally toward the final image.
Like the Gladiolus reaching toward the sun, we are all invited to grow toward our own light.

This is my August story—written with color.
